Since 2016, hundreds of authors have shared their secrets.
Asking your idols to spill the beans...and having them say yes?
In 2016, I was a new coach with a psychology background and knew I wanted to work with writers. I'd worked in multiple jobs related to writing, but worried I didn't have the knowledge I needed to help my clients with all the issues they might face when writing books.
The Secret Library was created to provide the expertise I didn't yet have. Interviewing writers I knew to start, the guest list exploded, including prizewinners and people I never dreamed I'd get to speak with.
What began as an experiment I launched with my husband became a force that completely changed my life beyond anything I could have believed.

My favorite writing podcast
These podcasts are balm for the writer’s soul. And Caroline is such a delight. The diversity of subjects and people make these extra special. There is always one that helps me get out of a creative funk.

Hi, I'm Caroline.
Since 2016, I've hosted the Secret Library Podcast.
When I was a little girl, I used to hide in my grandmother's powder room and host an imaginary radio show called "Bathroom Talks." I dreamed of being on
National Public Radio, with my own show.
The advent of podcasting made it possible to achieve this dream much more easily. After interviewing several hundred authors, being named a noteworthy show by Bookriot, Barnes + Noble, and more, winning the Beautiful You Podcast of the Year in 2022 and averaging 4.9 star reviews,
I've never looked back.
Join me to learn all the lessons I've gathered in the past
eight years of The Secret Library.
Inside the Secret Library
Podcast
In under 2 hours, you'll know:
- Just how quickly you can launch a podcast.
- What I'd do differently if I was starting a show now.
- How to pick a podcasting platform that suits your needs.
- Editing options for DIY podcasters at multiple budget levels.
- When you need more help and how to find the right support.
- What benefits podcasting has specifically for writers.
I hold nothing back, promise.
For the past eight years, I've run a podcast and have learned a TON through trial and error. I don't plan to become a podcast coach, but I know writers can benefit from this training.
There's no pitch for some giant podcasting program coming at the end of this course. I share everything I've learned in 90 minutes, broken into bite-sized lessons you can watch at your own pace.
My experience + opinion
Am I the only person with something to say about podcasting? Nope.
Everything I share is my own experience. There were no courses on podcasting back in 2007 when I launched my very first show, and in 2016 there weren't any coaches or experts leading the way. I learned by doing. Are there other ways to create shows? Definitely. But I've escaped pitfalls and managed to win an award as I learned, and this course shares all those lessons with you.
Individual Strategy
We cover my philosophy and method of podcasting.
I could fill a week of training sessions on this topic, but here I stay tightly on task. The q+a from the live training recording is included, but we don't discuss how to come up with an idea for a show. Your curiosity is your best guide there.
I can say right here that if you have an idea for a show you're excited about, I recommend you give it a shot. You don't need my approval or anyone else's to try it out. You have everything to gain -- trust your gut and make the leap.
